MISSIONS
Moved by a passion to see Africa transformed by the love of Christ, Pastor Don Gunter left a growing church in Montana and moved his family to Kampala, Uganda, in early 2002. Several months after the Gunter family settled in, a team of missionaries from Montana arrived in Uganda to help with the work of planting a church and starting a Bible College. What has transpired since that time has been nothing short of a true work of God! The church has grown to nearly 800 members, and students from the Bible College are being trained and sent out into all of Africa, which is truly ripe for harvest.
The missionaries knew that if there would be any lasting fruit in Africa, it could only happen by training and sending out the “locals” to minister to their countrymen. This vision came once step closer to reality in October of 2008 as Calvary Chapel Kampala ("CCK") hosted the “Preach the Word” conference. Several hundred Pastors and leaders from all over Africa attended the conference for encouragement and training in various aspects of ministry. We wait in expectation to see all that God will accomplish through these leaders as they teach God’s Word in the far corners of Africa.
Pastors Brian Kelly and Josh Carlson are currently leading the church in Kampala. They have recently ordained their first “local” Pastor, Brian Kanyike. Brian came to Christ through the ministry of CCK and has faithfully served Jesus ever since. You can find out more about CCK by visiting their website at calvarykla.com.

How exciting and humbling for our little church in Montana to have been a part of this great work of God in Africa!
